Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 cucumber, grated
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix well and form into small oval-shaped patties.
  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix tahini, yogurt, grated cucumber, and lemon juice to make the tzatziki sauce.
  5. Serve the kefta hot with the tahini and tzatziki sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less cayenne pepper.
  • Serve with pita bread or rice for a complete meal.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated for convenience.
