Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs beef flank steak, sliced thinly
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine beef, beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and sesame oil.
  2. Stir to combine and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, add broccoli florets to the slow cooker.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry, then stir it into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
  • Adjust the amount of brown sugar based on your sweetness preference.
