Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  9. In another bowl, mix the peanut butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
  10. Fold the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture until well combined.
  11. Once the cakes are cool, spread the peanut butter cream between the layers and on top of the cake.
