  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 small orange bell peppers

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder to create a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until the mixture thickens.
  4. Add shredded cheddar cheese to the sauce and stir until melted and smooth.
  5. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni.
  6. Cut the tops off the orange bell peppers and remove the seeds to create bowls.
  7. Fill each bell pepper with the mac and cheese mixture.
  8. Use a knife to carve jack-o-lantern faces on the outside of the peppers.
  9. Place the filled peppers in a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy your festive creation!
