  • 2 cups French onion soup
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a large Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper, then sear it on all sides until browned.
  4. Remove the roast and set aside. In the same pot, add sliced onions and garlic, sautéing until softened.
  5. Add the French onion soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and rosemary to the pot.
  6. Return the roast to the pot, cover, and place in the oven.
  7. Cook for 3-4 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  8. Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
