Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces white chocolate, chopped
  • Black food coloring (optional)
  • Edible eyes for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and mix in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. While the brownies are baking, prepare the ganache by heating the heavy cream in a saucepan until it just begins to simmer.
  9. Remove from heat and add the chopped white chocolate, stirring until smooth. If desired, add black food coloring to achieve a spooky look.
  10. Once the brownies are done, let them cool completely before pouring the ganache over the top.
  11. Decorate with edible eyes and let the ganache set before cutting into squares.
