2 pounds round steak, cut into serving pieces
1 cup flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Tenderize the round steak by pounding it with a meat mallet.
Season the flour with salt and pepper, then dredge the steak pieces in the flour.
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Brown the steak pieces on both sides, then remove from the skillet.
In the same skillet, sauté the onion, green bell pepper, and garlic until softened.
Add the diced tomatoes, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet.
Return the steak to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until the meat is tender.
Serve hot with your choice of sides.
